Another disappointing performance has seen calls for Arne Slot to be sacked by Liverpool emerge once again.

The Champions League was one of the few potential positives still left in the 2025/26 campaign, but the Reds’ last-16 tie got off to a nightmare start.

After a drab performance at both ends of the pitch, Slot has drawn the ire of the Liverpool faithful, who are pleading for his dismissal.

Who was Liverpool’s worst player vs Galatasaray? 😬

Liverpool fans ask for Arne Slot to be sacked

Supporters wanted a new manager earlier this season amid a run of nine defeats in 12, and the inconsistent nature of the Dutchman’s team means their stance has not really changed, as was evident by the reaction to the Galatasaray tie.

One fan wrote: “FSG please sack Slot what are we doing here man.”

“Please for the love of me slot needs to go tonight,” a second added.

Another stated: “Slot is hopeless man. Everything else highlighted here is a distraction. Change the manager please.”

A fourth simply stated: “Arne Slot out please,” while a fifth demanded: “Sack Slot now. Please we can’t take this anymore.”

Another even suggested Brendan Rodgers is a better manager: “Bring Alonso in please. Slot is ruining Wirtz too. He is the worst coach. Even Rodgers improved players and got performances.”

Will Xabi Alonso be Liverpool manager by the start of the 2026/27 season?

If no, where will he be instead?

When Arne Slot could actually leave Liverpool

While the cry for Liverpool to change coaches remains, it doesn’t look as though we will see a new manager in the dugout for the next couple of months.

There was previously a suggestion that Slot will leave in the summer, no matter what happens.

Meanwhile, a report last week claimed Liverpool have no plans to sack their manager for the time being.

It means we will see the Dutchman until May at the earliest, but if Jamie Carragher’s prediction comes true, Slot will go if the Reds fail to qualify for next season’s Champions League.

They are currently sixth in the division ahead of taking on Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.
