Liverpool are likely to have to spread their net when it comes to January targets as they prepare to lose out on Antoine Semenyo.
The Reds had been keen on signing Semenyo in order to bolster their dwindling attacking options.
However, the Ghanaian appears to have chosen to join Manchester City, with a move possibly set to be concluded before the turn of the year.
Liverpool can only sign ONE player this January, which position should they strengthen?
Liverpool could either decide not to act, potentially leaving themselves short for the second half of the campaign, or they could change approach and move onto a different target.
Should they choose the latter option, it appears possible that Juventus starlet Kenan Yildiz could come onto the agenda, with the Italian press confirming that the Reds have been closely watching him in recent months.
Liverpool keeping tabs on Kenan Yildiz ahead of 2026
Liverpool have previously been linked with Yildiz as the Turk continues to hash out a new contract with Juventus.
Despite being only 20 years old, Yildiz has quickly become a key player for Juve, but his relatively low salary has seen interest arrive from top European sides.

As per Italian outlet Tuttosport, several clubs have been calling about Yildiz in the lead up to the January transfer window.
Liverpool appear to be one of these, with the Reds namechecked as one team who have ‘monitored him repeatedly’ in recent months.
Arsenal, Chelsea and Real Madrid are also put forward as some more of those keeping an eye on Yildiz’s situation, although Juve now appear confident that they can rebuff any attempts to lure him away.
Who is the best signing Liverpool have ever made in the January transfer window?
Juventus ready to make Yildiz their best paid player
Having scored 10 goals and laid on eight assists already this season, Yildiz is clearly Juve’s main man already. No wonder Max Allegri called the youngster ‘extraordinary.’
According to Tuttosport, the Bianconeri are ready to recognise this as well, with an offer to make him their joint best paid player being prepared.
Juventus are said to have a meeting with Yildiz’s father and agent in the calendar for January, meaning if Liverpool want to move for him, they may have to do so before that arrives.
If Yildiz ends up signing a new contract until 2031 – and it is claimed that the feelings are currently very positive that he will – there will be little to no chance of the Reds or anyone else landing him.
Should Liverpool come in hot in the meantime, though, perhaps they can do enough to swing the direction of travel their way.
