Adidas’ gift to Liverpool star Mohamed Salah
Egypt have won the competition more than every other country, securing silverware on seven occasions throughout history.
However, they have not won the AFCON since 2010, meaning Salah has never lifted the trophy.
This term’s campaign got off to a nervy start for the Liverpool forward and his teammates, going 1-0 down after 20 minutes.

But Manchester City striker Omar Marmoush put Egypt back on level terms shortly after the hour mark.
Salah then stepped up in the 91st minute to make it 2-1 and secure his team the three points.
The forward scored that winner while wearing a special gift he received from Adidas prior to the tournament.
As per ESPN Africa, “adidas created special edition Egyptian-inspired F50 boots for Mo Salah at AFCON, with ‘Egyptian King’ written on the back. He wore them in Egypt’s first game and scored the winner”.
