The Reds could make another move for Marc Guehi over the winter amid their lack of centre-back depth right now.

stopping them. Whether they will or not is entirely down to the owners. They
have a £350m revolving credit facility – which you can basically liken to an
overdraft – that they can use if cash flow is tight. And if a blue-chip
centre-back is going to be the difference between qualifying for the Champions
League or not, it makes sense to pay a bit of a January premium and get a deal

The Merseyside outfit are thought to be ahead of Manchester United in the race for Antoine Semenyo, whose release clause of £65m will become active next month.
But the Red Devils may not be the only team potentially set to compete with the Premier League champions for the winger.
Tim Sherwood thinks Liverpool signing Antoine Semenyo is bad for Tottenham
Speaking on the No Tippy Tappy Football podcast, Tim Sherwood stated his belief that Liverpool will get Semenyo, which is bad news for Tottenham Hotspur.
Sherwood was asked: “So you think Liverpool are going to go for Semenyo in January?”
He said: “I think so. They get that over the line. I think so. And I think it’s bad news for anyone else who wanted Semenyo – Tottenham were in for him.”
“I think there’s never a sure thing, is there? But I think because he’s been in the Premier League, he’s done the rounds.
“Every time he steps up a level, he’s ticked the box. He’s got power. He’s got pace. He’s perfect on that right-hand side.”
Semenyo has six goals in the Premier League so far this season, but his goal contributions have dried up recently.
In fact, he has not scored or assisted in the top flight since the beginning of October in a 3-1 win over Fulham.

Liverpool could avoid Antoine Semenyo for other targets
Mohamed Salah’s uncertain future could well put pressure on Liverpool to make forward additions this winter.
But given they are now playing with Dominik Szoboszlai out wide and having some success, the Reds may wish to focus their efforts on a player more capable of coming inside and acting like a 10, rather than an out-and-out winger.
The Reds have a number of potential targets this summer, with a four-man attacking shortlist, including Michael Olise, revealed recently.
Kenan Yildiz from Juventus, Rodrygo from Real Madrid and Iliman Ndiaye from Everton are named as the other options.
