The possibility of Liverpool signing Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi has become a major talking point again in the last week.
The Reds made a £35m offer for Guehi during the 2025 summer transfer window, which was turned down.
Now, the centre-back will leave Crystal Palace for free at the end of his contract in June 2026, unless he secures a permanent exit in January.
All signs were pointing towards the England international becoming a free agent, but that could now change if Liverpool have anything to say about it.

Palace insiders now think that Liverpool may be the only club that attempts to buy Guehi in January, though the likes of Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are thought to hold an interest as well.
Following that update, journalist Ben Jacobs has commented on the stopper potentially moving to Anfield this winter.
Speaking on The United Stand podcast, he said: “People are assuming that Liverpool will bid in January because Giovanni Leoni got injured.
“It could happen, but, if it does, it would be a U-turn from Liverpool because sources said after the Leoni injury that they could wait until the summer.”

The 18-year-old arrived from Serie A outfit Parma over the summer but suffered an injury on his Liverpool debut versus Southampton on September 23.
Leoni has torn his ACL, and Slot has confirmed he will be sidelined for a year, meaning he won’t be back playing until September 2026.
The Dutchman said: “He is not in a good place because he tore his ACL, which means he will be out for a year.
“Being so young and coming to a new country and playing so well in your first game, it’s very hard to take the positives.”
