Dominik Szoboszlai has slowly turned into one of Liverpool’s most important players this season.

The Reds’ title defence might not have gone entirely to plan, but despite a terrible start to the campaign, there have been a few positives to take from it.

One of these has been the emergence of Szoboszlai as a vital player to Liverpool’s team, with the Hungarian always being important before, but turning into the best this season.

He is the leader without the armband and never drops a bad performance, with the 25-year-old proving that again against Inter Milan by scoring the decisive penalty to win them the game.

He has now also achieved something that no other midfielder has done since Steven Gerrard, which is a very telling sign of how highly Arne Slot rates him.

Dominik Szoboszlai has played 90 minutes in every Liverpool game this season

Managers and players seem to constantly complain about the amount of games they have to now play in a season, with there being huge worries that it is too much on their bodies.

However, Szoboszlai never seems to kick up a fuss, with the Hungarian a player who looks like he could run for days.

In fact, he has played 90 minutes in all 21 of Liverpool’s league or Champions League games this season, which is simply a ridiculous statistic.

The last midfielder to do this was Gerrard back in the 2012/13 season, although he had an easier ride as Liverpool were not in the Champions League that season.

The last to do it while they were in the European Cup was, in fact, Sammy Lee back in the 1983/84 season, highlighting further just how impressive it really is.

BIG win for Arne Slot and Liverpool!

Picking a Player of the Season in December seems a bit silly, but Szoboszlai is that consistent that, barring any injury, there is no way he does not win it.

He never drops below a 7/10 performance and has been their best player by a mile already, with him showing no signs of stopping any time soon.

Even if a Liverpool player goes on to score an absurd amount of goals from here on out, you would not be surprised if the Hungarian played a starring role in creating them, suggesting he is pretty much nailed-on for the award.

Many were wondering whether he has a future at the club following the arrival of Florian Wirtz, but now, he is the first name on the teamsheet.
