Liverpool fans pick a side as Mohamed Salah vs Arne Slot debate reaches boiling point

Mohamed Salah has taken matters into his own hands by calling out Arne Slot, with almost every fan now having their say.

If things could not get any worse for the Reds right now, how about adding in an internal feud between one of the best players in their history and the current manager?

Who do you think should go, Salah or Slot?

Well, whether supporters like it or not, that is exactly what has happened and there is no going back now, with Salah’s comments about Slot making it feel like something significant is about to happen.

There is a good chance the Egyptian now leaves, that Slot is now sacked or perhaps even both, with the whole situation just far from pretty.

Liverpool supporters have, of course, had their say online and will continue to do so, but it is safe to say they are on one person’s side more than the other.

Liverpool fans seem to be on Mohamed Salah’s side of the argument

It is a hard position to be in as even though Salah was probably wrong for calling Slot out so publicly, he clearly feels passionately that a change is needed, and fans might do as well.

Based on how they have reacted to their beef, it suggests most are on the Egyptian’s side, with Slot looking like he could be about to lose the battle.

One supporter wrote: “We stand with Mohammed Salah. Treated unfairly these last few weeks, the fact he thinks someone doesn’t want him at the club is truly concerning. By the looks of it, the players have lost full faith in the management team.”

Another simply added: “I stand by Mohamed Salah over Arne Slot,” while a third wrote: “Salah then, Salah now, Salah forever.”

A fourth supporter also stands by the Egyptian, saying: “I’ll sacrifice the manager before I ever sacrifice Mo Salah, not arsed what anyone else thinks.”

However, that does not mean there are not a few siding with Slot even if they are the minority, with one fan saying: “He’s self-centred, that’s what he is. Competition is part of football. Nobody has a divine right to start.”

A sixth wrote: “Pathetic! Since when is a player bigger than the club?” with a seventh adding: “It’s Liverpool FC not Mo Salah FC.”

But, a final supporter made it clear who he thinks is in the right, saying: “If it’s Mo vs Arne, I’m siding with Mo every day of the week and twice on Sunday.”

Whose side are you on, Salah or Slot?

“I said many times before that I have a good relationship with the manager, suddenly we don’t have a relationship, I don’t know why.  It’s not acceptable to me, to be honest. I don’t know why it always happens to me. ‘We throw Mo under the bus, because he’s the problem.’ I don’t think I’m the problem.”

One of either Mohamed Salah or Arne Slot has to go

This situation really does look like it means the end for one of these two’s careers at Liverpool, and right now, it is hard to see which way it goes.

On one hand, fans will want the club legend to stay and find his feet again under a new manager, especially as he still has a year-and-a-half left on his contract.

However, at 33, whether he can do that is another matter, suggesting that backing the manager is better for the long-term future of the club.

Either way, one will surely go, with FSG having a big decision to make, and either way whatever they choose, some fans will be unhappy.
