Caoimhin Kelleher says Arne Slot has dropped the hardest-working player at Liverpool

Liverpool face Leeds United on Saturday, and Arne Slot has several big calls to make for the match.

The manager has already suggested that three Liverpool players aren’t fit enough to play three matches in six days.

Said players are Alexander Isak, Florian Wirtz and Joe Gomez, all of whom started the recent clashes with West Ham United and Sunderland.

Elsewhere, for the first time under the Dutchman, Mohamed Salah has been dropped to the bench for two games in a row, with it suggested his relationship with Arne Slot is now broken.

Is the relationship between Mohamed Salah and Arne Slot at breaking point!? Jamie Redknapp seems to think so… 😬

“He’s a Premier League great, a Liverpool great and that’s why I don’t think this is going to end well. I’ll be amazed if he sees out the last two years of his contract, or year and a half. This for me now is a real breaking point in the relationship.”

Caoimhin Kelleher praises incredible Mohamed Salah

Fans thought Salah was acting ‘weird’ when the TV cameras panned to the 33-year-old on the bench against Sunderland.

But despite question marks over his relationship with Slot after being axed from the eleven, Caoimhin Kelleher still thinks the Egyptian is Liverpool’s hardest-working player.

Speaking on the Fozcast this week, he said: “Yeah, he’s incredible, man. Such a humble guy as well for like how famous and like such a big star that he is.

“He’s so like humble, but he’s the hardest-working as well.

“Like every day in the gym, you’re not getting in the gym before him really, I would say. He’s first in the building.”

Can you name the top-five players with the most appearances for Liverpool and Leeds combined❓

Arne Slot on Mohamed Salah starting vs Leeds United

Whether or not he returns to the starting line-up on Saturday remains to be seen.

Slot was asked about Salah in his pre-Leeds presser on Friday, but his response was coy and gave little away.

On the forward returning at the weekend, he said: “Every player is in my mind to start a game of football because we have so many good players.

“Mo has been such an exceptional player for us. He is always in my mind to either start or come in.”

If Salah does not start, it’s likely we will see Dominik Szoboszlai used off the right again, as Slot doesn’t like to play Federico Chiesa despite the Italian continuing to impress in limited minutes off the bench.
