Jurgen Klopp was not as lucky as Arne Slot as he did not always get the player he wanted.

The amount of work that goes on behind the scenes at Liverpool regarding transfers is astonishing, and the Reds are one of the best clubs at getting it right.

They spend a lot of time scouting and researching players to ensure they would be the right fit, meaning that if they are interested, they usually have a good reason as to why.

Some players slip through the net, though, and there was one in particular who Klopp was a big fan of during his time in charge at Liverpool, but a move never materialised.

But now, the same player could finally end up at Anfield but under Slot instead, with the Reds set to table a bid for the midfielder.

Liverpool remain keen on Eduardo Camavinga

Eduardo Camavinga was once one of the hottest talents in Europe, and he still is even though he plays for Real Madrid.

His game time has been limited as of late, however, and he has far too much ability not to be getting regular game time, which is why he could be on the move.

Liverpool have been linked with him fairly recently, but according to CaughtOffside, the Reds are expected to table a bid for the Frenchman.

Around £52m is what the rumoured fee would be, which feels very cheap given that he cost £31m in 2021 and has only got more experienced since.

Slot is said to have identified him as a top target as he wants to strengthen his midfield options, and due to Madrid’s current stars in this area of the pitch, they might be willing to cash in on him.

Manchester United and PSG are also said to be interested, meaning that signing him will not be an easy task, but given Liverpool’s previous interest, they might be considered frontrunners.

Eduardo Camavinga would be perfect for Liverpool

As mentioned, Klopp was keen to bring Camavinga to Liverpool before he signed for Madrid, but the Spanish giants managed to tempt him that way instead.

Who is your dream Liverpool January signing?

But it is clear why the German wanted him and why Liverpool are still interested, with the Frenchman a versatile option to have.

He can play multiple roles and already has experience winning the biggest of trophies, something that not many 23-year-olds can say.

This could prove to be an opportunity too good to pass up on, so the very least Liverpool can do is throw their hat into the ring, and preferably early too.
