Trent Alexander-Arnold has shared an insight into his admiration for Arne Slot despite only being coached by him at Liverpool for one season.
The right-back chose to jump ship in the summer and make a move to Real Madrid after his contract with the Anfield outfit expired.
Most fans knew that the Englishman was going to leave Liverpool, but nobody expected him to drag it out for as long as he did.
There were times when fans were certain that he was going to stay, but in the end, he left his boyhood club.

Despite wanting to leave, his choice seemingly had nothing to do with Slot’s management skills, as he actually lauded the Dutchman for what he’s done with the Anfield outfit.
Trent Alexander-Arnold calls former Liverpool managers Arne Slot and Jurgen Klopp ‘top’
Alexander-Arnold’s rise through the ranks at Liverpool is a prime example of the careers that all young footballers aspire to have.
The Liverpool academy graduate was initially brought into the first-team squad by Jurgen Klopp, who then turned him into one of the best right-backs in the world.
Slot was lucky enough to manage the Englishman at his peak, with the right-back now admitting that both managers were ‘top.’
“As a player, you can sense when you’re working with a top manager, and I was fortunate enough to only work with top managers, in my opinion,” he said to Amazon Prime Sports.
“You know we [Xabi Alonso and Alexander-Arnold] both came to the club at the same time, and it’s a privilege to work with him and his staff.
“And it’s been nothing but a dream come true for me.”
Liverpool must beat Real Madrid in their Champions League clash on Tuesday
The Champions League clash between Liverpool and Real Madrid is now just days away, with most people knowing how big a game it’s actually going to be.
The two sides faced off with one another in the league stage last year, with Liverpool ending up triumphant.
However, now that Alexander-Arnold has joined Los Blancos, it feels like there’s a lot more riding on the game.
The Englishman wanted to experience a new challenge, but Liverpool need to prove that they were the best option for him and his career.

They can do this by beating Alonso’s men and proving that they didn’t actually need the right-back at all.
If Liverpool beat Real, they’ll be in a much better position for their future Champions League games and would even extend their winning streak to two, which, over the last few weeks, has felt close to impossible.
