Liverpool lost yet again this season as they bowed out of the Carabao Cup.
Things just keep going from bad to worse for the Reds as they have now lost six of their last seven games in all competitions.
Although they did not have to beat Crystal Palace, a win would have done them the world of good given how bad their run of form is right now.
Pressure might be starting to slowly increase on Arne Slot and it might be justifiable given the one big error he made ahead of the game.

Arne Slot should have put the first-team players on the bench
Most fans knew that Slot would put out a weakened side, but nobody really expected him to rest that many players.
It was only Milos Kerkez who survived from the team that lost to Brentford, with the other 10 players all being changed.
As well as this, Slot named a bench entirely made up of youth players, with there not a single first-team player available to come on.
This proved to be a massive error from the manager as Liverpool were in the game for the first 30 minutes or so, suggesting that it could have been a little different should he have gone stronger.
They then also had nobody to bring off the bench who could make a real impact, meaning that the game was all but over as soon as Ismaila Sarr scored his second.

This will only leave fans questioning Slot a little more, making it even more of a bizarre decision, with the Dutchman now needing to put things right quickly.
Liverpool’s fixtures do not get any easier
The big problem for Liverpool is that they are in a bad run of form and their fixtures only get harder from here on out.
They face Aston Villa next in the league, before taking on Real Madrid and Manchester City before the international break.
If Slot is not careful, heavy defeats in these games could even see him lose his job, hence why they need to start picking up results.
It is certainly a tough time at Liverpool right now, with this performance against Palace being another one to forget quickly.
