Liverpool fans have had to wait patiently for Alexander Isak to get himself up to speed after his deadline day arrival.
Much is expected of the Swede following his record-breaking £125m move, but things have understandably started slowly.
Newcastle supporters have delighted in Isak’s perceived struggles, although you would be hard pushed to find a Liverpool fan who thinks their new striker is the problem right now.
Things could certainly have been better in some respects, but Isak has by and large looked sharp and threatening when he’s been on the ball in a Liverpool shirt.
The task now for Arne Slot is to get more out of his No. 9 in terms of goal-scoring output.
So far, the focus has been on getting Isak settled into the club and building on his fitness. With the second international break of the season now out of the way, Slot has confirmed what supporters have been desperate to hear: that Isak is ready to truly announce himself at last.

Alexander Isak is finally fully fit
One of the biggest reasons for Newcastle supporters’ delight over Isak has been his failure to spark on the international stage for Sweden.
The Scandinavians lost to Switzerland and Kosovo in October, with Isak unable to find the net in either match.

Crucially for Liverpool, however, the 26-year-old played 180 minutes across the two games. He may not have scored, but Isak didn’t play badly for Sweden and staying on the pitch throughout proved that he is now fully up to speed.
As Slot said in his pre-Man United press conference on Friday, Isak’s ‘pre-season’ has finished and he should now be considered 100 per cent match ready.
“He has had five or six weeks of pre-season which is normal,” said the Liverpool head coach. “Fitness wise he is close to the level and we can judge in a fair way from now on.
“I think his pre-season has maybe finished now, he has played a few games, 70-80 mins. So, let’s see where he is.”
With Slot promising that Isak is good to go, Liverpool supporters should finally get to see the head coach’s plan for his new-look attack in action.
Man United set to provide Hugo Ekitike and Isak clue
The first chance for Isak to show just how fit he is could not come at a better time. If he can hit the ground running against Man United on Sunday, he will go a long way to silencing some of his critics.
This weekend’s match will also give Slot the first real opportunity to use a fully fit Isak alongside fellow new signing Hugo Ekitike.

So far, the two have been used rotationally, but with both in contention to play against United, Sunday’s line-up will give a clue as to what Slot is planning for the two players long-term.
Things have been disjointed so far as the Liverpool boss has been unable to get all his best players on the pitch at the same time.
With fitness struggles beginning to fade to black, Reds supporters should be filled with excitement as they finally get a glimpse of how that could look.
Isak will be central to whatever plan Slot has, and that in itself should be enough to grip fans ahead of another big game.
