Liverpool truly have one of the world’s best keepers at their disposal.
Alisson Becker, since joining the Reds from AS Roma in 2018 for £67 million, has been an incredible addition to the backline and arguably one of the most important signings in recent memory.
The Brazilian’s stopping ability, paired with his reflexes, makes him second to none and has pushed Liverpool from title contenders to Premier League title winners on two occasions because of his skills.
While he is currently injured, he has still been an important part of Arne Slot’s side, especially in last season’s title victory, and has now saved the Reds from worse defeats this season.
The 33-year-old is among the best keepers, and former Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart is one of those who has given him an ample amount of praise for his time on Merseyside.
Joe Hart praises Alisson Becker but says Thibaut Courtois is better
Hart was once one of the best goalkeepers in England, being an integral part of the success of City, and made a big impact in the national side.
Speaking to TNT Sports, the goalkeeper was asked about his favourite keepers to watch from around the world and Alisson was one of the two names to crop up.
He said: “I always enjoy watching Alisson at Liverpool. Think he’s an excellent goalkeeper.”
However, even with this great praise, there was another keeper who the former star felt was just that little bit better than Liverpool’s No. 1.
Instead of the Brazilian being his favourite, it was instead Thibaut Courtois who Hart cannot get enough of because of his accolades with Real Madrid.
“But around the world, Courtois will always be one of my favourites. I love him and he’s actually a far more fashionable goalkeeper than he probably was 5 years ago. Excellent shot stopper. Won his team the Champions League the season before last,” he explained.
Both are incredible, but Liverpool fans know exactly why Alisson is the best because of how important he has been in the club’s recent successes.

The praise from the England international did not just extend to the keeper but the whole of Arne Slot’s team when he was asked about the Reds’ chances this year.
During this interview, he was asked about the signings Liverpool have made and where he sees them going in the Premier League this season.
Hart singled out Florian Wirtz as the best out of the summer haul and explained why he believes he will be one of their best players.
He said: “I think Florian Wirtz is the most important one. You know he played for Bayer Leverkusen, and he was a boyhood player there, and for many seasons, he was at his best because the whole team flowed through him.
“They understood his qualities. They understood what made their team tick. So he just needs a little bit of time. So they just need to manage him as best they can. There’s no doubt his quality.
“They wouldn’t have signed him otherwise. He’s a brilliant player, but they just need to bed him in and keep working, maybe giving him minutes here, giving him minutes there. And once that flows there, I think he will be a really dangerous player.
“So in the meantime, he’s probably better off going back to what he had last season, being solid, getting the best out of Mohamed Salah, using Ekitike, using Isak. I’m sure they’re going to be a force to be reckoned with.”
It will be very interesting to see how the squad performs coming off this international break, especially with some standout performances already.
