Liverpool have been poor during their last few games.
Although there’s not one specific player or member of staff to blame, it feels like an awful lot more could come from the Anfield outfit.
Of course, there have been times this season when Liverpool have shown their class but with the last three performances they’ve put in, it feels like things could take a turn for the worse at any moment.
Several members of the Reds’ first-team squad haven’t been up to scratch, which, after the club spent £450million on new players, is far from ideal.

However, even though most players haven’t shown any signs of turning their run of form around, Shay Given still thinks that the Reds have a player who could become a “diamond.”
Shay Given believes that Florian Wirtz will be a ‘top player’ for Liverpool
One of Liverpool’s most exciting summer transfers was the arrival of Florian Wirtz.
The attacking midfielder was touted to be the Reds’ creative spark now that Trent Alexander-Arnold has left.
At the moment, however, he only has one goal contribution to his name across all competitions, but that isn’t because of a lack of trying.
He’s close to the top of the list for chances created with Liverpool but his teammates have often let him down.
And now, while speaking to Premier League Productions’ Weekend Wrap, Given has shared his thoughts on the young German.
“Alexander Isak hasn’t had a pre-season, he needs to get up to speed,” he said.
“Wirtz, I do like Wirtz, he’s getting a lot of stick at the minute, but there’s a diamond in there and I think he will be a top player for years to come.”
Liverpool need to figure out how to get the best out of Florian Wirtz
In the summer, Wirtz was one of the most sought-after players on the transfer market.
The attacking-midfielder contributed to over 30 goals across all competitions and managed to become one of the best number 10s in the world.
And now that he has much higher-quality players around him, you’d have thought that he’d have got even better.
However, that has been far from the case with a lot of fans and pundits calling him a flop.

Indeed, a fair few have also said that he’ll come good but, unless Arne Slot figures out the best way to use the German, they may have wasted £116million.
At the moment, it’s anyone’s guess what could happen but with the way things have panned out thus far, it feels like it’ll only be a matter of time before we see the version of Wirtz that everyone saw at Bayer Leverkusen last season.
