Liverpool were seen as the favourites to win the Premier League and Champions League at the start of the season.
However, their last two performances against Crystal Palace and Galatasaray have led some to question whether they can even win one.
The fact that Liverpool were beaten 1-0 by the Super Lig team is nothing short of embarrassing, especially since the Reds have spent over £400million on new players this season.

The only player that actually performed to a decent level was Alisson, but due to a mistake from Ibrahima Konate, he ended up injured, which has ruled him out until after the international break.
Pat Nevin slams Liverpool quartet after what they did against Galatasaray
Konate was one of the four players who Pat Nevin singled out for criticism after his performance on Tuesday.
The centre-back has been miles off it for most of the 2025-26 season, with his teammates often having to pick up even more slack than they have done over the course of the entire campaign.
However, since Giovanni Leoni is out injured and Joe Gomez is hardly reliable, the Frenchman isn’t likely to lose his place in Arne Slot’s starting XI any time soon.
And, while speaking on BBC Sport’s Football Daily Podcast, Nevin shared his thoughts on the performances of Konate and three of his Liverpool teammates on Tuesday.
“Liverpool have the problem all great teams have, which is when anyone plays them, it’s their biggest game,” he said.
“[Milos] Kerkez is going to fly forward, so there’s going to be space in behind him.
“There were lots of difficult moments for [Dominik] Szoboszlai. Yes, he can play in that position, but he’s not a natural out-and-out full-back. He’s not a specialist, and it’s a very specialist position.
“The understanding between [Ibrahima] Konate and [Virgil] Van Dijk wasn’t great, and they looked shaky and uncertain.”
Liverpool must seriously improve their performance against Chelsea on Saturday
One thing that has remained consistent in the 2025-26 season for Liverpool is that they’ve performed well below their usual standards.
Indeed, they are currently sitting at the top of the Premier League table, but that’s only because of the number of late goals they managed to net at the start of the season.
And, since those have seemingly dried up, Liverpool’s inconsistency and flaws are becoming more prominent in each game.
If Slot wants to keep the Reds’ title as the best team in the Premier League, things are going to have to change soon; otherwise, they could turn sour at Anfield in an instant.
At the moment, it’s unclear how things will pan out on Saturday against the Blues, but one thing is for sure: if they play anything like they did against Galatasaray, Enzo Maresca’s men will walk all over them.
