Liverpool were one of the busiest teams in the summer transfer window.

The Reds spent over £400million on improving their first-team squad, with the likes of Alexander Isak being brought in for £125million.

At the moment, the Reds’ fans haven’t been able to experience how good the Sweden international is due to his lack of match fitness, but now Hugo Ekitike is suspended, it feels like Saturday’s game against Crystal Palace could be his time to shine.

However, even though the window has only just slammed shut, talks of the Reds’ future transfer plans have begun to emerge, with Bayern Munich’s Michael Olise among Arne Slot’s reported targets.

Bayern Munich may end up offering Michael Olise a new contract amid Liverpool’s interest

Although Mohamed Salah is one of Liverpool’s best-ever right-wingers, it’s clear that he could be on his way out of the club at the end of next season.

The attacker signed a two-year extension with the Anfield outfit at the end of the last campaign and, even though he’s started off the season well, it’s unclear whether Liverpool will enter talks to extend his deal.

This means that, if Salah does leave, Slot will have to find a new right-winger, with Olise on top of that list.

However, as per a fresh report from German outlet Bild, it seems like the reigning Bundesliga champions could be about to offer the Frenchman a new deal.

The report starts by saying the club are ‘already talking’ about ‘binding’ Olise with the club for even longer.

His current deal runs until 2029, but Bild says that it’s ‘quite conceivable’ that talks of an extension will emerge this season.

However, the report does round things off by saying that, at the moment, there has been ‘no contact’ between Olise and Bayern, even though Vincent Kompany did call him a “special talent.”

Michael Olise could end up being too expensive for Liverpool

Although Olise would be a more than solid signing for Liverpool, the price Bayern would likely demand for the former Crystal Palace man would be extortionate.

Last season, alongside Harry Kane, the Frenchman was one of their best players as he contributed to over 40 goals.

In fact, he played so well that both Leroy Sane and Kingsley Coman were shipped out due to their underperformance.

Bayern also ended up signing Luis Diaz from Liverpool in the summer, and, with the way that things have started for the Bundesliga outfit, they look likely to have another impressive season.

At the moment, it’s anyone’s guess what could happen, but even if Olise plays half as well as he did last term, he could end up proving too expensive for the Reds to buy, especially after their spending in the summer.
