Liverpool mooted to make yet another £100m+ bid next summer as Reds enter three-horse race

Liverpool have massively upgraded their first-team squad this summer.

In fact, they’ve found themselves among the highest spenders in the Premier League this term, with Arne Slot and Richard Hughes spending well over £400million on their new arrivals.

Indeed, this is a massive amount of money, but the fact that they also sold over £200million worth of players outlines how they managed to afford it in the first place.

And, even though Florian Wirtz’s and Alexander Isak’s transfers are likely to end up costing Liverpool £241million during their time at Anfield, in the 2025-26 season, they’ve only spent just over £50million on them both thanks to some smart instalment payments.

However, even though many may think that’s Liverpool now done in the transfer market for the next few seasons, new reports are emerging about another potential big-money move next season.

Liverpool could end up bidding around £129million for Michael Olise next summer

Seeing as though both Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah will be in the final years of their deals at Liverpool next season, Slot and co. will have a fair few big decisions to make.

Indeed, both are still likely to be at the top of their game, but with them now both earning an extortionate amount of money each week, the Reds must weigh up whether they’re actually worth keeping around for another couple of seasons.

At the moment, links with Marc Guehi are still floating around, especially with the future of Ibrahima Konate also raising questions.

However, for Salah’s replacement, it’s Bayern Munich’s Michael Olise who’s getting linked with an Anfield switch.

And, as per a report from German outlet Absolut Fussball, it reportedly wouldn’t be a ‘big surprise’ to see Manchester City, Liverpool or Paris Saint-Germain offer over £129million for the Frenchman in the future.

“Olise can continue to increase its market value, and next summer the World Championship is finally on the program,” they wrote.

“Will he be the “cash cow” of the Munich people?

“Offers in the amount of 150 or 160 million euros from clubs of the quality class Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City or Liverpool FC would then not be a big surprise.”

On the face of things, it’s clear to see why Liverpool are so interested in signing Olise as Salah’s replacement.

The Frenchman already has plenty of Premier League experience with Crystal Palace and is also rapid both on and off the ball.

He also has a keen eye for goal, and he can also chip in with assists if and when needed.

Olise’s natural position is right-wing, but he can also be used anywhere across the front three if needed.

He’s also only 23 years old and, even though the 2024-25 season was the one where he played at the highest level of his career, he still managed to produce some crazy numbers.

Of course, Olise isn’t quite yet at the standards of Salah, but the fact that he’s 10 years younger and he’s putting out these kinds of numbers shows how good he actually is.

And, while a fee worth over £129million may seem a tad excessive, the potential he has must also be taken into account.

Only time will tell what the future has in store, but if Liverpool can come to an agreement with Bayern, it feels like Olise would be an exceptional addition to Slot’s first-team squad.
