Liverpool have had the perfect start to the new season, but the same cannot be said for certain individuals.
The Reds’ title defence is well underway and after five games, they are sitting pretty at the top of the table on a maximum of 15 points.
They find themselves already five points clear of the chasing pack, although their performances would suggest they are very lucky to be in this position.
Liverpool are yet to fully click into gear and some of their stars are yet to show what they are about, with the new signings in particular taking their time to get up to speed.
But there is one who has struggled more than most, and former Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge believes that one of the Reds’ stars should have joined a different club.

Florian Wirtz should have joined another club
One of the most underwhelming signings in the league so far is that of Florian Wirtz, with the German yet to register a goal or an assist.
He has not been as bad as rival fans claim, though, with the 22-year-old still showing flashes of excellence in matches, although he has largely been labelled as ‘average’.
However, Rummenigge has a different opinion and claims that he would have been better off elsewhere, with Bayern Munich the destination he would have chosen for him.
“I have to honestly say, I still feel sorry for Florian Wirtz because I think the player would be better off at Bayern Munich than at Liverpool,” he told Welt.
“FC Bayern would be well advised not to go along with every financial madness. I’ve always said: We want sporting success, but please with serious and solid financing. We have a top team. We’ll be back this year as well.”

That might be the case, who knows, but if one thing is for sure, it is far too early to make a judgement on these sorts of things.
As his manager Arne Slot claimed, Wirtz has been getting better week by week, so when it clicks for him, he will take the league by storm.
Florian Wirtz is learning quickly
The reason why Rummenigge might think Wirtz would have been better in the Bundesliga is because he already knows the league, but it is a much less demanding one to say the least.
Players in Germany get a lot more time on the ball, something Wirtz thrived on at Bayer Leverkusen, but something he is finding out he will not get in the Premier League.
It is clear that he is understanding this, though, as against the likes of Arsenal and even Burnley, he took fewer touches of the ball before releasing it, with his performances in these games being much improved.
Of course, failing to get a goal involvement in seven games is far from ideal for an attacking midfielder, but the signs are there and it will come in good time.
