‘Impressive’ Liverpool player has announced himself as a new forward option for Arne Slot this season

Arne Slot now has five senior attacking options among his ranks thanks to the arrival of Alexander Isak.

The striker joined the Anfield outfit in a £125million transfer on deadline day after a saga that dominated most of the transfer window.

And, now that Slot has to figure out who to start at striker between Hugo Ekitike and Isak, some issues could soon arise.

Among their five attacking options is Mohamed Salah.

The Egyptian King is more or less guaranteed a place in Liverpool’s starting XI, but when he goes to AFCON with Egypt in December, a position will open up within the team.

Indeed, Federico Chiesa is likely to be first in line to replace him, but, since he was left out of the Reds’ Champions League squad, it’s unclear what Slot’s current plans are for him.

So, with this in mind, it might actually be a good thing that a player who Chris Sutton once called “impressive” has made it well-known that he can play as a right-winger if needed.

Conor Bradley could be Liverpool’s right-winger during AFCON

Most fans would have likely assumed that Rio Ngumoha would be next in line for right-wing after Chiesa.

However, with players such as Conor Bradley and Jeremie Frimpong now a part of Liverpool’s first-team squad, the 17-year-old is going to have to be on top of his game if he wants Salah’s place.

That is, especially after the performance that Bradley put on for Northern Ireland in their 3-1 win against Luxembourg on Thursday.

Although Bradley didn’t manage to chip in with a goal or assist, the fact that he was used on the right wing and managed to excel shows how good a player he actually is.

One of the main things that Bradley has going for him is his attacking contributions.

The defender has a keen eye for a pass and, if needed, he can always chip in with a goal, which is why he could be Slot’s interim right-winger.

As mentioned, now that Frimpong is among Liverpool’s ranks, the Dutchman also has some rather impressive attacking talent.

Over the last two seasons, the former Bayer Leverkusen man chipped in with 43 goals across all competitions and more than proved his worth for Xabi Alonso.

However, if he ends up getting injured again, much like he is now, the Reds would have the option of Joe Gomez.

Indeed, he offers a more defensive style, but over the course of his time with the Anfield outfit, he’s been played across the back four and has put in a more than solid effort.

At the moment, it’s anyone’s guess what could happen, but the fact that Slot chose against signing another winger this summer is starting to make a lot of sense.

That is, especially with the form that most of his players find themselves in at the moment.
