Liverpool have massively overhauled their ranks this summer.
It’s clear that Arne Slot believed that a major re-jig of his ranks was needed, even though the Reds managed to win the Premier League title last season.
The 2025-26 summer transfer window has seen many players brought in, with some, such as Hugo Ekiitke, fitting in easily.
Others, such as Milos Kerkez, still need some time to settle in and get used to being Liverpool players, but after the international break is over, that’s likely to be sorted fairly quickly.

Although some exits, such as Darwin Nunez’s, were expected, there were one or two others that certainly caught the Reds’ fanbase by surprise.
Mohamed Salah sends farewell message to Harvey Elliott
One of the players that the Anfield outfit were not expected to get rid of on deadline day was Harvey Elliott.
Indeed, there were rumours throughout the window about the young Englishman joining RB Leipzig, but since they wouldn’t meet Liverpool’s asking price, those talks broke down.
And, just when fans thought Elliott would be staying, Aston Villa came in with a late swoop and put a deal on the table that was an initial season-long loan with an obligation to buy for £35million.
Taking to his personal X account, Mohamed Salah sent his former teammate a goodbye message, stating how “lucky” the Villans were to have him.
“You’ll be remembered for your loyalty and dedication every time you were called upon,” he wrote.
“You leave as a champion, and I’ve got no doubt you’ll do big things at your new club. They are lucky to have you.”
Liverpool have a lot of relationships to build up this season
It goes without saying that the Reds’ main goal this season will be to retain the Premier League title.
Slot will also be looking for his side to make a good name for themselves in the Champions League after they were knocked out in the Round of 16 last term.
This is why there’s no hiding from the fact that Elliott would have been a useful player to have around Anfield this season.
The 22-year-old can play on either wing and in any of the central midfield spots, aside from defensive midfield, of course.

And, due to the sheer amount of player turnover that has occurred at the club this summer, relationships will need to be built back up quickly.
Otherwise, they can kiss their title hopes goodbye.
