Liverpool were once again involved in some of the biggest transfers to have taken place on deadline day.
The Reds have spent over £400million on improving their ranks this summer, and even though their net spend is just over £200million, it’s still an awful lot of money for them to have shelled out.
However, with players such as Alexander Isak and Florian Wirtz now a part of their first-team squad, it’s clear to see why Arne Slot and Richard Hughes spent as much as they did.

Indeed, Isak’s move may have taken until deadline day to get over the line, but since the transfer window opened at the start of June, it’s been clear that both Liverpool and Isak wanted the move to go through.
Jeremie Frimpong sends a message to Alexander Isak after his Liverpool move was confirmed
As mentioned, the future of Isak dominated most of the summer transfer window.
Although Newcastle didn’t want to lose their star man at all, it was clear that things had reached a point of no return between the two.
Liverpool’s attack is now one of the best in the world, and it’s clear that the Sweden international has been welcomed with open arms by his new teammates, as Jeremie Frimpong sent the striker a welcome message.
“Welcome my g,” he wrote via his personal X account.
Liverpool fans cannot wait to see Alexander Isak in action
Although Liverpool already brought in Hugo Ekitike earlier in the summer transfer window, it’s clear that they still needed another attacker to be brought in.
Last term, they had six attacking options among their ranks, and since there were a fair few games in which certain players were injured, it left them with four options for most of the season.
And, although Liverpool made it work due to the performances of players such as Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz, they can’t solely rely upon one or two players to lead their attacks.
So, with the arrivals of Ekitke and Isak, it’s already given Liverpool two extra options to look towards.

Indeed, the arrival of the Sweden international will mean that Ekitike will likely have to be played out of position on occasion, but, since both are still young, there’s plenty of room for them to grow.
Of course, only time will tell what the future has in store for Liverpool, but it doesn’t come as much of a surprise that the Reds’ fans want the international break to be over with so that they can see their new number nine in action.
