Fabrizio Romano says Liverpool have just agreed another deadline day signing, ‘here we go’

Liverpool have had an extremely busy transfer deadline day.

Several players have been linked with Anfield exits, with some, such as Harvey Elliott even undergoing their medical.

And, seeing as though Liverpool have sold a few of their players this summer, it only feels right for them to have added some talent to their own ranks, which is exactly what they’ve done.

Alexander Isak is obviously the talk of the town with his £125million transfer from Newcastle now just awaiting official confirmation.

However, it doesn’t seem like the Reds are stopping there.

Marc Guehi is set to join Liverpool

One of the main talking points over the last few days has been where Marc Guehi’s future lies.

The Crystal Palace captain has kept quiet on the situation throughout most of the summer, with rumours from journalists emerging about his future.

And now, as per a report from Fabrizio Romano via his personal X account, it seems like the Reds have finally got their man.

“BREAKING: Liverpool agree deal to sign Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace, here we go,” he wrote.

“Deal in place for fee over £35m plus 10% sell-on clause included in the package.

“Guehi agreed personal terms with Liverpool one month ago, now all done.

“One more move by Richard Hughes.”

Liverpool are going to be almost impossible to stop this season

Liverpool have arguably had one of the best transfer windows of all time.

They may have spent well over £400million on improving their first-team squad this summer, but due to the number of sales they’ve made, their net spend is nowhere close to that.

To make things even sweeter, the fact that Elliott is set to join Aston Villa on a season-long loan with an obligation to buy worth £35million means that, effectively, Guehi will have been brought in for nothing.

At the moment, it’s unclear how well Liverpool’s new players are going to work together, but if they all play to the very best of their abilities, it’s hard to think of a team that will stop them this season.

That is, especially if Slot chooses to start Guehi over Ibrahima Konate upon their return from the international break.
