Liverpool have managed to get their 2025-26 Premier League season off to the perfect start.
Arne Slot’s men have played two top-flight games thus far, and thanks to their wins against Bournemouth and Newcastle, they currently have six points to their name.
Indeed, both games were hard-fought victories, with their last game against Newcastle a rather cagey affair, but, in the end, it’s the result that matters, and that’s what Slot’s men managed to achieve.

Even though things have been a tad ropey in the first couple of weeks of the season, there’s still a chance for Slot to make even more history during his short time in charge of the club thus far.
Arne Slot could break a record that Jurgen Klopp set during his time in charge of Liverpool
There’s no hiding from the fact that Jurgen Klopp is one of Liverpool’s best-ever managers.
The German managed to win everything possible during his time in charge of the Anfield outfit, with his name likely to forever be remembered in the Reds’ history.
However, as per a report from BBC Sport, if Liverpool score against Arsenal on Sunday, they’ll set a new record for consecutive goals scored in Premier League games.
At the moment, this number sits at 36, with this number being hit while Klopp was in charge between March 2019 and February 2020.
So, since they’re currently on 36, one more goal could see them surpass this already impressive number.
Slot breaking this record is also rather likely, as they’ve managed to score in 39 out of the 40 Premier League games that the Dutchman has been in charge for thus far, which in itself is a crazy statistic.

Liverpool must prove their dominance and beat Arsenal on Sunday
At the moment, Liverpool and Arsenal are seen as the most likely teams to come away with the Premier League title.
Both have had incredible starts to their 2025-26 campaigns, and although there is plenty of time for things to change, Sunday’s game could end up being extremely important.
Of course, this is only their third top-flight game of the campaign, but if one team leaves Anfield with all three points, it could have a massive part to play in the way things pan out at the end of the season.

However, for Liverpool to beat Arsenal, they’ll have to be on top of their game, with players such as Florian Wirtz and Mohamed Salah needed to get out of their ruts and prove that they have what it takes.
Because, if they want to become Premier League champions and perhaps even win the Champions League, they need every one of their players to prove their worth.
