Liverpool have been one of the busiest teams in football when it comes to transfers this summer.

The Reds have spent a lot of money trying to improve their first-team squad, with Arne Slot also showing the exit door to several members of his team.

At the moment, most of the rumours about the Premier League champions centre around Alexander Isak and Marc Guehi, with both players wanting to make the move to Anfield.

However, since both Newcastle and Crystal Palace are being stubborn with their negotiations, no moves have yet been made.

Fulham signing Samuel Chukwueze could be good for Liverpool

Although there isn’t that much left for Liverpool to do in the transfer market, that won’t stop their Premier League rivals from making moves.

Several teams from England’s top flight have had massive overhauls this summer, and until January comes around, it likely won’t be clear who the best of the bunch is.

However, as per a report from journalist Ben Jacobs via his personal X account, Fulham haven’t given up hope in the market yet, with the Cottagers making a move for AC Milan ace, Samuel Chukwueze.

“Fulham are in advanced talks with Milan for Nigerian winger Samuel Chukwueze. A player on the club’s radar since January,” he wrote.

“Fulham prepared to pay €25m.”

Why Fulham signing Samuel Chukwueze would be good for Liverpool

Last season, Liverpool lost a Premier League game to Fulham 3-2 in a game which saw Ryan Sessegnon, Alex Iwobi, and Rodrigo Muniz put down Slot’s title-winning team.

As you can imagine, this came as quite a shock to most Liverpool fans as, throughout most of the 2025-26 season, the Reds were incredibly dominant.

This season, their first top-flight game against Marco Silva’s men is on 3 January, with Craven Cottage hosting the clash.

However, since this game will occur in the middle of AFCON, it could end up being a good thing for Liverpool.

That is, especially if they sign Chukwueze from Milan.

If the Nigeria international does end up making the switch to Craven Cottage, that would mean that Iwobi, Calvin Bassey and Chukwueze would all be absent from the clash.

This is why, looking ahead at some of Liverpool’s fixtures, Chukwueze signing for Fulham could actually be rather beneficial for Slot and his men.
