Liverpool have been one of the busiest teams in the transfer window this summer.
Arne Slot and Richard Hughes have already spent close to £200million on new arrivals, and if Hugo Ekitike arrives, they’ll be closer to £300million.
Although the Anfield outfit were fairly dominant last term, there were still a couple of areas within their first-team squad that needed upgrading.

And, now that they seem to have their new striker nailed down in Hugo Ekitike, they’re likely to start looking at new centre-backs with the stance of one now being shared.
Jorrel Hato would be ‘open’ to a Premier League move this summer
Liverpool have already been linked with several new centre-backs this summer.
Players such as Giovanni Leoni and Marc Guehi are the ones who have dominated the rumours, but recently, Ajax’s Jorrel Hato has come back into the frame.
Arsenal have been the ones vying for his transfer the most this season, but it was reported earlier in the week that Liverpool now expect the ‘special’ young Dutchman to join them.
And, as per a report from GiveMeSport, Hato’s stance on a move to the Premier League has now been revealed.
The report from Ben Jacobs outlines that Hato is ‘believed to be open’ to a move to England this season.
Jacobs also shares that Chelsea have now entered the race with the battle for his services expected to go on for the foreseeable future.

Jorrel Hato would be a smart signing for Liverpool
Hato is a defender who can be used at left-back or centre-back.
And, although a new left-back was the Reds’ main priority this summer, now that they’ve signed Milos Kerkez and they still haven’t sold Andy Robertson or Kostas Tsimikas, they’re more than covered in that position.
However, since Jarell Quansah has now been moved on, Slot only has three senior centre-backs to choose from.
And, even though Hato would likely want a starting role in whichever team he’d choose to join, due to his age and experience, he’d likely come in as the third or fourth choice.
Indeed, only time will tell whether Liverpool will be able to pull off a move for the defender, but if they can, his versatility alongside the amount of potential he has will no doubt make him an impressive addition to their ranks.
