Liverpool have been rather dominant in the transfer market this season, with Arne Slot signing players for almost every area of the pitch.

The Reds were already one of the most dominant teams in the Premier League last season, but with their new additions, it’s hard to see how they’re going to be stopped.

One of Liverpool’s main goals in the 2025-26 season will be to retain the top-flight title as well as make a better name for themselves in the Champions League.

And, with the latest transfer rumour to have emerged from Anfield, it feels like the Dutchman may have the upper hand in the negotiations for an ‘unbelievable‘ Newcastle player.

Darwin Nunez could be used by Liverpool to sign Anthony Gordon this summer

Darwin Nunez’s time at Liverpool is more or less up, with the Uruguay international failing to live up to expectations last season.

The attacker has long been linked with a move away from Merseyside, and although Napoli may have pulled out of the race for him, there are still a couple of suitors ready and waiting.

And, as per a report from German outlet BILD, it seems like Eddie Howe’s Newcastle are one of them.

The Magpies now have Nunez on their ‘radar’ after Liverpool managed to prise their number one target Hugo Ekitike away from them.

Victor Osimhen is another striker who’s being watched by Howe, but with his return to Galatasaray almost sealed, it’s hard to see them signing him.

With Newcastle’s need for a new striker now made clear, they’re likely to explore the market for an interesting option.

The Magpies have already added Anthony Elanga to their attacking ranks, which means they have an abundance of wingers among their ranks at the moment.

And, with this in mind, it’s hard not to think about Liverpool’s long-standing interest in Anthony Gordon.

The former Everton man has been in the Reds’ sights since he chose to pack his bags and exit Goodison Park.

And, although a move hasn’t yet come to fruition, the fact that Newcastle are now looking at Nunez means that a swap deal could be arranged.

Indeed, this is all just speculation at the moment, but with both clubs having players the other wants, it makes sense for a move to be sanctioned.
