Luis Diaz has had his Liverpool future questioned an awful lot recently.
The attacker was arguably one of the Reds’ best attackers last season, with Arne Slot looking towards him to lead his attacking line on more than one occasion.
However, due to players such as Florian Wirtz arriving and the recent rumours surrounding a potential move for Rodrygo, Diaz has been linked with a move away a fair few times.

And, although the Anfield outfit have rebuffed the offers made for Diaz that have come in so far, that doesn’t mean the likes of Barcelona and Bayern Munich are going to stop their pursuit any time soon.
Didi Hamann believes Bayern Munich would be wasting their money on Luis Diaz
As mentioned, Bayern and Barcelona have been the two teams most linked with an interest in Diaz this summer.
The Colombian only has two years left on his current Liverpool deal, and unless the Reds choose to sell him this summer, they could end up losing him for nothing at the end of next season.
And, although the Dutchman may see him as an important cog in his plans during the 2025-26 campaign, if a big enough offer comes in, it should be accepted.
However, former Liverpool ace Didi Hamann believes Bayern would be wasting their money on bringing Diaz in this summer.
“To now bring in Luis Diaz, a 28-year-old South American who played 50 games per season for four or five years and has those long flights home, which are also a problem,” he said to Sky Germany.
“To pay 70 or 80 million for that, while the sale value is zero because he would be 32 at the end of his contract, I wonder what they even have the campus for.”

Liverpool must accept a £70million+ bid for Luis Diaz if one comes in
There’s no denying that Diaz’s agility and keen eye for goal would be a sore miss at Anfield.
However, with the attacker now being 28 years old and in the final two years of his deal, now feels like the best time to sell him.
The Colombia international has never been worth more than he is now due to the impressive performances he put in last season, and if the Reds don’t agree to his sale, they’ll end up losing him for nothing.
| Games | Goals | Assists |
| 50 | 17 | 8 |
This would obviously be far from ideal for each of the involved parties.
Only time will tell what the future has in store, but for now, it’s unclear which way things are going to go.
However, if Slot and Richard Hughes don’t choose to sell him this summer, then they have to at least offer him an extension to keep his price tag high.
