Florian Wirtz’s transfer to Liverpool has been one of the main things to have dominated headlines this summer.

The attacking midfielder was brought to Anfield for a fee worth around £116million and, even though there’s still almost two months left of the window, many are dubbing the move for the young German as the best that any team could pull off.

The young German hasn’t taken to the pitch for Arne Slot’s men just yet, but if he can replicate the form he showed during his time with Bayer Leverkusen, he should fit right in.

However, as there is still plenty of time left in the transfer window, other clubs are likely to try their best to outdo the Reds’ recent moves.

Liverpool fans react as Noni Madueke edges closer to joining Arsenal

Since Liverpool set the precedent by spending close to £200million on all of their new arrivals, other Premier League outfits have tried to match them.

The Reds’ title rivals, such as Arsenal and Manchester City, have also spent big and, now that Noni Madueke is set to move to the Emirates for around £55million, Liverpool’s fans have shared their thoughts on the move.

One fan wrote, “And he’s twice the player Madueke is”, while another said, “Liverpool signed Florian Wirtz for less than the price of Madueke and Elanga.”

“As I said he will look like biggest bargain of the century,” one fan wrote. While another added, “Florian Wirtz is 3 times better than Madueke.”

This fan also seemed rather elated by the news of Arsenal’s latest endeavour as he wrote, “Do you know how funny this sounds.”

If Liverpool’s first-team squad wasn’t already strong enough, with Wirtz among their ranks, it feels like they’ll be close to unstoppable.

Of course, there are still a couple of areas within Slot’s team that could do with strengthening, but on the face of things, the Reds seem to have a more than solid squad.

Not only will Slot want to try and retain the title, but he’ll also want to make a name for himself in the Champions League after they were knocked out by Paris Saint-Germain in the 2024-25 season.

Of course, only time will tell what the future has in store for the Anfield outfit, but with the way things seem to be headed, there’s no way that the Reds won’t be competing at the top of the table once again.
