Liverpool fans are eagerly awaiting the announcement of Florian Wirtz’s signing.
With seemingly the whole of Europe eyeing his signature, many were surprised to see Liverpool beat Man City to Wirtz’s signing.
It took a record-breaking £116m offer from the Reds to get the deal over the line, but Liverpool eventually got their man.
Having agreed terms with both Bayer Leverkusen and Wirtz’s party, only a medical now stands in the way of the German’s Anfield arrival.

Florian Wirtz set for Liverpool medical
Having recently featured for Germany in the Nations League, Wirtz is enjoying a well-earned holiday and will return to footballing duties from Wednesday.
The Athletic has since revealed the 22-year-old will arrive in the UK later this week to complete his Liverpool move.

Wirtz’s medical is set to take place this Friday, suggesting the move could be announced as early as this weekend.
If there are no glaring injury issues, the attacker will join the Reds for a whopping £116 million on a five-year deal.
Wirtz’s injury record may be cause for concern
Having racked up an impressive 45 appearances last season, there are no major concerns for Wirtz heading into the medical.
One area that may bring up questions, though, is the 22-year-old’s past knee problems.
That is because back in the 21/22 season, Wirtz suffered an ACL tear, which put him out for nearly a year.
The attacker hasn’t suffered any more major injuries since, but it could still be an area for concern for the Liverpool medical staff, especially with a record fee being paid.
