Liverpool have long been chasing the signing of Milos Kerkez, and now it seems like they have finally got their man.

The Reds have kicked off the transfer window in style, with a record-breaking £116m deal for Florian Wirtz already agreed.

Liverpool’s defence has also been bolstered, with the £30m arrival of Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen.

Further defensive recruits are seemingly on the way as well, as Bournemouth full-back Kerkez now looks almost certain to arrive at Anfield.

Liverpool confident about Milos Kerkez transfer

Kerkez’s transfer to Liverpool has been close for some time, but it seems like Andy Robertson’s rumoured move to Atletico Madrid has kicked FSG into action.

That is according to journalist Florian Plettenberg, who claims Liverpool are now ‘100% convinced’ that Kerkez deal will go through.

Reds fans, though, will have to wait a little longer to see Kerkez holding a Liverpool shirt, with the transfer set to be finalised once Wirtz has signed and been presented.

Wirtz is currently on holiday until Wednesday, suggesting the Hungarian could be a Liverpool player by the end of next week.

Liverpool now face left-back decision

With the Kerkez transfer virtually done, Arne Slot now has the tough task of deciding who to keep out of Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas.

Robertson is ‘keen’ on the Atletico Madrid move, which begs the question as to whether Liverpool will stand in his way of a potential Spanish switch.

Tsimikas meanwhile is expected to leave Anfield in search of more minutes.

Liverpool however cannot sell both left-backs, meaning one of those players may be left unhappy come the end of the window.
