Sami Khedira is a living legend of the game, with the former Real Madrid man now weighing in on a player that Liverpool look set to sign.
The former German midfielder was a regular feature for Los Blancos as he helped hold down the fort for the five seasons he was there.
Liverpool are coming off the back of an impressive season themselves, with the Anfield outfit winning the Premier League title during Arne Slot’s first season in charge of the club.
Despite their dominance throughout the 2024-25 Premier League season, however, there are still a couple of areas within Slot’s squad that could do with upgrading.

And, even though Jeremie Frimpong is the only one to have had his Anfield switch confirmed, that hasn’t stopped Khedira from giving his verdict on a player that Liverpool look set to sign.
Sami Khedira believes Florian Wirtz is a better player than Leroy Sane
The summer transfer window isn’t fully open yet, with teams only being able to conduct transfer business due to a special 10-day window that’s currently active.
Speaking ahead of the Champions League Final, Khedira gave his verdict on who the best German player is and delved into why he thinks Florian Wirtz is better than others, such as Manuel Neuer, Leroy Sane and Marco Reus.
“Look at his skills, look at his impact on the game, everybody would like to sign him,” he said.
“He makes his teammates better, he’s scoring goals, his passing, his position and yeah, I love this guy.”
Florian Wirtz could be key to a Champions League win for Liverpool next season
Before an opportunity for Liverpool to buy Wirtz became a reality, a number 10 likely wasn’t all that high on Liverpool’s priority list due to the stellar form that Dominik Szoboszlai has found himself in this season.
The Hungary international has been a key cog in Slot’s set-up, but with Wirtz likely to arrive, things may start to get a bit complicated in the middle of the park.

Szoboszlai, Alexis Mac Allister and Ryan Gravenberch all deserve their place in the team, but with Wirtz set to enter the frame, Szoboszlai or Gravenberch will more than likely have to lose their place.
Wirtz has been in fine form this season for Bayer Leverkusen, and due to the way he carries the ball and his keen eye for goal, the young German could be exactly what Slot needs to take his team to the next level.
Indeed, only time will tell what the future holds, but on the face of things, it’s hard to see how the addition of the Bayer Leverkusen ace won’t make Liverpool even more difficult to beat.
