The future of Mohamed Salah at Liverpool remains up in the air.
It is well known that the Egyptian is out of contract at Anfield at the end of the season and despite being a crucial player for Arne Slot, there has been no breakthrough in negotiations with the season having entered the month of April.
With Trent Alexander-Arnold set to join Real Madrid this summer, Liverpool fans will be slightly concerned about the 32-year-old’s situation as the winger has provided his team with 32 goals and 22 assists across 45 matches throughout the current season.
With the possibility of Salah leaving Merseyside this summer, Liverpool have been keeping an eye on potential replacements and one of their targets has informed his club that he want to leave ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.

Liverpool-linked Jamie Gittens ready to leave Borussia Dortmund
Liverpool have been linked to Jamie Gittens for some time now as the possibility of the 20-year-old leaving Dortmund this summer was always high.
The Reds are continuing to scout the winger, reports Fabrizio Romano for GIVEMESPORT, as several clubs have already submitted enquiries about the player.
The transfer expert states that Liverpool are one of the teams involved, but the Premier League leaders can’t make a move at present as the Reds continue to try and tie Salah down to a new contract.
Sky Sport Germany’s Florian Plettenberg is also reporting that Gittens has informed Dortmund that he is ready to leave the Bundesliga outfit this summer, with several English clubs waiting to make their move for the 20-year-old.
With a Liverpool exit on the cards for Luis Diaz this summer, Gittens could also be a replacement for the Colombian should he depart Anfield.
If the Reds make a call on the 28-year-old now, they would be able to move for Gittens, no matter what happens with Salah.

Jamie Gittens would be a great fit for Liverpool
Gittens ticks a lot of boxes for Liverpool as the player is young, can play on both wings, and there is plenty of room for development.
His former Dortmund boss, Nuri Sahin, heaped praise on the winger back in December after his performance against Bayern Munich, complimenting his work on both sides of the ball.
“You need 1-on-1 players who have speed. He’s maturing in his game,” Sahin told Sky Sport via BVB Buzz. “We talk a lot about risk and reward. When do I go into the 1-on-1, when do I prepare for it? When he gets rolling, he’s a fantastic player. He’s also made huge strides defensively.”
With 12 goals and four assists to his name this season, Gittens is a player who would fit in perfectly at Liverpool. However, the Reds may need to make a decision on the 20-year-old very soon, as several clubs are hovering around the English star.
