Liverpool have had some immense strikers on their books throughout their rich history.
From Ian Rush to the more recent Roberto Firmino, the Reds have always had a man to put the ball into the back of the net when they needed it most.
Between 2007 and 2014, Liverpool were blessed to have Fernando Torres and then Luis Suarez leading the line for their teams, with a common debate being which of the two was better.
Gary Neville was shocked by the levels Suarez reached at Anfield, and when the Sky Sports pundit put that question to Jamie Carragher, the former Liverpool defender explained why he would always pick one over the other.

Jamie Carragher picks between former Liverpool teammates Luis Suarez and Fernando Torres
Carragher played with both Torres and Suarez during his time at Liverpool, therefore, the former defender knows better than most about just how good the duo were in their prime.
Speaking to Neville on The Overlap, the Sky Sports pundit explained why he will always choose Suarez over Torres, as the Uruguayan star did things at other clubs that Torres failed to do once he left Anfield for Chelsea.
“Suarez, unbelievable,” Carragher stated when asked to pick between the pair. “I actually think he’s the best center forward in the world for like, three or four years, not just at Liverpool.
“That last year at Liverpool, and what he did at Barcelona the next two or three years. If you actually look at what he’s done, he then leaves Barcelona and wins La Liga with Atletico Madrid. He also gets to the semi-final of the World Cup.
“Everywhere he goes, he takes that team (to a new level). That Liverpool team that nearly won the league was an average team. He nearly single-handedly took them to the league, that’s what he does with every team he goes to.”
Both strikers had some incredible moments in a Liverpool shirt; however, when it comes to their careers at Anfield alone, one season is enough to separate the duo.

Luis Suarez’s incredible 2013/14 campaign
Carragher referenced Suarez’s 2013/14 campaign in his answer as one reason he would pick the Uruguayan star over Torres, and there is an argument to be made that this season alone is enough to lean towards the former Barcelona star in the debate.
Suarez nearly guided Liverpool to the Premier League in 2014 as the current Inter Miami star produced 31 goals and 15 assists across 37 matches in all competitions that season, however, the Reds would fall just short to Man City in the race.
Torres had an incredible career at Liverpool and even with better players around him, the Spaniard failed to win a title on Merseyside throughout his four years at the club, which is another thing Suarez achieved over the former Chelsea star.
It didn’t take much thinking from Carragher to make his pick and for the majority of Liverpool fans, this would be a similar case.
