Liverpool fans were over the moon with their team’s result against Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday night.

The Merseyside club were dominated by the Ligue 1 leaders throughout the contest in Paris and Arne Slot has Alisson Becker to thank for the advantage his team brings back to Anfield.

The tie is certainly not over and Vitinha is confident that PSG can get a result on Tuesday to see them through ot the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

Liverpool will need all the support they can get from the Anfield crowd to help them get over the line against Luis Enrique’s team as they will not want to witness a similar display to the one seen in Paris.

Another thing Liverpool fans will not want to see and hear again is Rio Ferdinand, with Reds supporters all saying the same thing about his commentary performance during PSG vs Liverpool.

Liverpool fans have had enough of Man United legend Rio Ferdinand

Ferdinand was full of praise for Alisson after the Brazilian incredible display against PSG and the former Man United also pointed out the performance of Trent Alexander-Arnold against the Ligue 1 leaders.

However, Ferdinand’s overall display on commentary left Liverpool fans unhappy as Reds supporters felt that the 46-year-old could not hide his bias in wanting PSG to win.

The former Man United got very animated as the French giants got close to scoring and it provided some great fan reactions.

One Liverpool fan stated (via X formerly Twitter): “I was looking for the mute button for Rio Ferdinand, turns out it was in Harvey Elliot’s left boot.”

A third supporter said: “Rio Ferdinand hasn’t said a single word since Elliott’s goal.”

Another Liverpool fan would add: “Listening to 46-year-old Rio Ferdinand speaking like an 18-year-old Youtuber for 90 minutes is a tough ask.”

TNT Sports needs to fix commentary for Liverpool matches

TNT Sports’ commentary on Liverpool games has received plenty of criticism from Reds fans throughout the season with the Merseyside Derby being another contest where one-sided views were on display.

Yet, TNT continue to have the same trio of Ally McCoist, Rio Ferdinand and Darren Fletcher guiding fans through matches of the Premier League leaders.

It has become clear that Liverpool fans have had enough and the extent of the problem is even being noticed by journalists.

The Liverpool Echo’s Paul Gorst stated after Liverpool’s win against PSG: “Afraid there was excess Rio Ferdinand once again on tonight’s TNT coverage. Pitchside, gantries, tunnels, the man covered every blade. Just too much Rio Ferdinand.”

Although this may seem minor on the grand scale of things, this situation is one that TNT Sports need to get on top of as Liverpool games are not the only ones where this has become evident.
