Liverpool have had a number of star performers this season, none more so than Mohamed Salah.
Having bagged yet another goal and an assist against Manchester City, the 32-year-old now sits on a whopping 51 goal contributions across all competitions.
Gary Neville claimed Salah was ‘different class’ at the Etihad, as the Liverpool man broke more Premier League records.
With the Reds looking set for trophy success and the Egyptian continuing to provide staggering numbers, Salah is tipped to win the Ballon d’Or in 2025 – something Yaya Toure believes should happen.

Yaya Toure ‘amazed’ at Mohamed Salah criticism
Rio Ferdinand backed Salah’s Ballon d’Or chances if Liverpool win the Premier League and it seems like Toure agrees with his former Manchester rival.
In an interview with beIN SPORTS, the former Man City midfielder revealed he is often ‘amazed’ when people criticise the Reds forward.
When asked whether Salah is the best player in the world, Toure responded with:
“For me yes. You have to give it to him (Salah). He should have been called that long ago if I’m honest. Without showing disrespect to other candidates, Salah deserves that.
“When people talk about consistency, I have seen players be overrated after their first season saying they are a top player, they deserve that etc. But this guy for so many years has been so consistent for Liverpool and still people find a way to talk about him differently.
“Sometimes I am amazed by those people who talk about football, I don’t understand honestly. If you ask the pure football people, I describe myself as a football person, I know what this guy is doing for the game. He deserves the respect.”
Salah’s Liverpool consistency is shown by the stats
Toure waxed lyrical about the Liverpool man’s consistency and the stats more than back up the Ivorian’s claims – with Salah having managed at least 35 goal contributions in each of the last five seasons.
| Mohamed Salah stats all comps | Apps | Goals | Assists |
| 24/25 | 38 | 30 | 21 |
| 23/24 | 44 | 25 | 14 |
| 22/23 | 51 | 30 | 16 |
| 21/22 | 51 | 31 | 15 |
| 20/21 | 51 | 31 | 6 |
Despite Salah’s contract situation still being unresolved, the Reds forward hasn’t let that affect his performances this campaign.
The 32-year-old has not only continued his impressive form from recent seasons, he has got even better already surpassing his goal and assist tally from last campaign.
With still eleven league games to be played, Salah could break the Premier League assist record come May – and you wouldn’t bet against him doing so.
