Liverpool’s clash with Man City at Anfield last season had a lot riding on it.
Both teams, along with Arsenal, were all involved in the Premier League title race and victory for either Liverpool or Man City in March would have given the winning team a big boost of momentum.
The contest would finish 1-1 with the Reds coming from behind after John Stone put City in front. Jamie Carragher heaped praise on Alexis Mac Allister on the day as it was the Argentine’s goal from the penalty spot that earned the Merseyside club a point.
The match had a lot of attention on it given its importance to the title race and one interesting spectator was Paris Saint-Germain coach, Luis Enrique.
In the aftermath, the Spanish coach made a comment on the contest and with Liverpool set to play PSG in the next round of the Champions League, his words reveal what he thinks about the Reds.

What Luis Enrique spotted during Liverpool vs Man City
Liverpool will face PSG in the Last-16 of the Champions League next month after the Reds learned their path to the final on Friday.
John Aldridge has some concerns about Liverpool drawing PSG as the Ligue 1 outfit have been in top form since the turn of the year and are currently leading the French league by 10 points after 22 games.
Enrique was impressed when watching Liverpool play Man City last season and commented on the contest in the aftermath.
“I saw it, it was a very high-level match with unique coaches,” Enrique stated, before sharing his views on how the level compared to Ligue 1.
“What I can give is a reflection on what I think Ligue 1 is. When I didn’t know here, I thought it was a bit of an easy championship. But it’s the opposite, there is a very high level in the players and the coach.”
Liverpool’s record against PSG says a lot about how the tie may go, with the Ligue 1 champions also causing concern for former Liverpool star and ESPN pundit Steve Nicol.

Steve Nicol shares how Liverpool beat PSG
The biggest concern for Liverpool when they come up against PSG next month will be the French club’s forward line of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Ousmane Dembele and Bradley Barcola.
Dembele, in particular, has been on fire since the turn of the year and recently went on a run of scoring in eight games straight.
Speaking on ESPN FC, Steve Nicol believes Liverpool need to prevent PSG’s forwards from getting the ball and if they can do that, the Reds will be successful.
“I could think of an easier draw,” Nicol said. “Before Christmas, they didn’t have Kvaratskhelia and Dembele up until the first part of the season had done nothing and all of a sudden has caught fire.
“The front three are a real worry. If you are Liverpool, if you take care of them, and more importantly, if you deny them the ball, then that’s why Liverpool will be favourites because I think in the other departments Liverpool are way stronger.”
Liverpool travel to Paris on 5 March before the Reds host the Ligue 1 champions in the return leg on 11 March at Anfield.
