Arne Slot hasn’t had the luxury of many new signings since his Anfield arrival, but that could all change this summer.

With no new names to get excited about in January, it seems like FSG will go full steam ahead in the summer window.

Liverpool have already been linked with Joshua Kimmich, in what would be a statement signing for the Reds.

Arne Slot and co are also seemingly keen on adding to their frontline, following Liverpool’s recent links with Mohamed-Ali Cho.

The most exciting signing of the lot however could be the potential acquisition of Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth.

Liverpool told to sign Antoine Semenyo this summer

Liverpool were linked with Semenyo in January with Ben Doak even being touted in a potential swap deal, Bournemouth however were keen to keep hold of their man.

With that being said, the Reds could return for the 25-year-old this summer with a more lucrative offer – something Sam McGuire believes is worth doing.

Speaking to Sporting Life, the football analyst claimed that Liverpool should make a move for the Bournemouth man as the deal reminds him of the transfer that saw Diogo Jota depart Wolves for Anfield.

During his analysis, McGuire claimed Semenyo is performing at a similar level to Jota before he left Molineux.

The analyst revealed that the Portuguese international was underperforming his xG during his final season with Wolves scoring seven from an expected 12 goals. Semenyo this season meanwhile is scoring 0.31 goals per game from an expected 0.33.

Semenyo’s versatility could be an asset for Slot’s side

Jota is famed for his two-footedness in around the box and that is something Semenyo also possesses.

The Bournemouth man is currently averaging over four shots a game in the Premier League, with 52% of them coming from his left, while 41% have been with his right.

This ability to be dangerous with both feet means Slot could potentially use him across the frontline, similar to how he has used Jota in the past.

Bournemouth teammate Lewis Cook claimed Semenyo has ‘has all the ability in the world’ and Liverpool fans will no doubt hope he can showcase that ‘ability’ at Anfield next season.
