Liverpool booked their place in the Carabao Cup final on Thursday night.

Arne Slot’s men overturned a 1-0 deficit from the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final with Tottenham by smashing the North London outfit 4-0 at Anfield.

The performance was one of the Reds’ best this season and it was spurred on by the brilliant atmosphere the home fans created.

Liverpool fans often show up for big games to help their team over the line and Thursday night was no different.

Once the Reds took the lead in the tie, the Anfield crowd belted out a loud rendition of “Allez, Allez, Allez”, which Alexis Mac Allister and Federico Chiesa loved on the Liverpool bench.

Federico Chiesa shows that he loves playing for Liverpool

Chiesa joined Liverpool last summer from Juventus but his time at Anfield has not gone the way the Italian star would have liked.

The winger has featured only nine times for the Reds this season, producing just one goal and two assists. This is largely due to injury issues Chiesa has faced throughout the campaign, however, the Italy international seems ready to fight for his place on Merseyside.

A recent report stated that Chiesa is ‘madly in love’ with playing for Liverpool as the winger is determined to make it work at the Premier League leaders.

The 27-year-old was in awe of Liverpool fans signing against Tottenham, which shows that this report is not far off.

There were rumours that Chiesa could leave Liverpool during the January transfer window, although that was never on the cards for the player.

The winger could be a great option for Arne Slot to use off of the bench throughout the rest of the season and the Italian will be ready to show his boss what he can do.

Arne Slot may need Federico Chiesa to step up for Liverpool

Chiesa made his first Liverpool start for more than four months against PSV Eindhoven last week and impressed former Red Steve McManaman.

The Italian star showed moments of brilliance and will continue to work on his match sharpness over the coming weeks.

With Liverpool still fighting on all four fronts, the former Juventus star will be required to step up, and even more so if one of the Reds’ front three picks up an injury issue.

The signing of Chiesa could prove to be a good one yet but the Italian star just needs to stay away from injuries.

Should he do that, Slot will give him the chance to shine, with the remainder of the campaign set to determine if the winger will be at Anfield next season.
