Gary Neville is one of many pundits who has been left impressed by Liverpool this season.
The Reds have made a flying start to life under Arne Slot, and the Dutch coach’s team being six points clear at the top of the Premier League while remaining in all the cup competitions is not something football fans saw coming.
Liverpool are a team with a lot more control over the outcomes of games compared to how Jurgen Klopp had the Reds play.
Following the Merseyside club’s recent 4-1 win over Ipswich Town, Neville likened Liverpool to Man United teams he played in as they have several styles of play.
Speaking on the Gary Neville podcast, the pundit said: “Liverpool play two or three different styles of play in a game where they play more direct in games, they can then sit back and counterattack, and then they can press, they’ve modified their style within the game to suit the period of the game, and that’s how we played.”
Despite this, Neville has now predicted Liverpool’s EFL Cup clash with Tottenham on Thursday night, and it may surprise many.

Gary Nevilles predicts Tottenham to reach the Carabao Cup final
Thursday night’s clash is a big one for both Liverpool and Tottenham for different reasons, with the result set to have a big impact on their seasons.
Liverpool are without Trent Alexander-Arnold for the match at Anfield, while Ange Postecoglou has admitted that Tottenham will not risk Micky van de Ven.
The Merseyside club enter the contest as favourites but that has not stopped Neville from going against the Premier League leaders.
Speaking on the latest episode of It’s Called Soccer!, the former Man United star has admitted that he has a feeling Tottenham will get a draw at Anfield before going on to win the Carabao Cup.
“I think Tottenham. I think Tottenham are going to get a draw,” Neville said. “I don’t know how they’re going to get a draw at Anfield, but I feel like it’s going to be an emotional, mad night where something happens.
“Postecoglou said earlier on in the season… I’m maybe not hanging my hat on what he’s saying entirely, but I’ve just got a feeling Tottenham…I’ve got a feeling Tottenham could win the Carabao Cup this season.”
Arne Slot plans on taking Liverpool to Wembley and history is on the Reds’ side when it comes to playing Tottenham at Anfield.

Tottenham struggle to beat Liverpool at Anfield
Neville’s prediction is even crazier given Tottenham’s record away at Liverpool as the North London outfit have often struggled at Anfield.
Tottenham haven’t won any of their last 14 away games against Liverpool, losing 10 and drawing four. Seven of those 10 defeats were by a one-goal margin.
When it comes to Carabao Cup semi-finals, Spurs’ record at this stage has also been very underwhelming. In the last 11 seasons including this one, Tottenham have reached the semi-finals five times, progressing to the final twice.
Include the injury worries Postecoglou has and this makes Neville’s prediction a wild one if it somehow comes off.
