The January transfer window has been a quiet affair for Liverpool, with no major incomings or sales yet to be made.

Sitting top of the Premier League and UEFA Champions League standings, Arne Slot has been proven right in not needing to go overboard on new signings to improve the Liverpool squad, with the Dutch manager making just the one permanent singing in the summer in Federico Chiesa.

Although Liverpool are looking to sign Jorrel Hato before the closure of the transfer window next week, all signs seem to point towards the Reds ending the January market without any new signings, though few fans are likely to be annoyed with this outcome.

However, Liverpool’s lack of movement has opened the door for other teams to move for rumoured targets, and one such player could now be ready to snub a move to Anfield for a switch to France.

Anis Hadj Moussa ready to snub Liverpool for LOSC Lille move

According to Foot Mercato, Anis Hadj Moussa is keen to join LOSC Lille having expressed interest in the UEFA Champions League side’s project, with the Algerian international willing to snub Liverpool to make the move happen.

Hadj Moussa has been linked with Liverpool this January with the Feyenoord attacker catching Slot’s eye this season having joined the Dutch side last summer, with the 22-year-old impressing in the Champions League.

With Chelsea also interested in signing Hadj Moussa, the former Vitesse forward already looks set for a massive transfer just one year after joining Feyenoord, with Liverpool still in the race for the Paris-born attacker.

However, with Hadj Moussa sold on the Lille project, a move to Liverpool’s Champions League rivals could now be in the works, especially with just a few days remaining of the January transfer window.

Who could Liverpool sign before the transfer window ends?

With one week to go before the closure of the January transfer window, time is running out for Liverpool to make any sort of major move with so few days left to conclude any business that could cause some big shockwaves around Europe.

Yet that hasn’t stopped the Reds from being linked with some big players, with Liverpool interested in signing Joshua Kimmich as a potential free agent this summer if the Bayern Munich star decides to leave at the end of his contract.

Indeed, Liverpool’s January window has been predictably quiet, and with Hadj Moussa potentially heading to Lille, one exciting player who Slot clearly rated could now be off the market, a significant blow with the summer market around the corner.
