Liverpool take on Tottenham this week in the first of two semi-final ties with the north London side in the League Cup.
Having won the competition last season, Arne Slot will be keen to retain the League Cup as his first piece of silverware as Liverpool manager with the Reds the overwhelming favourites to go the distance for the domestic cup later this year at Wembley Stadium.
Having drawn 2-2 with Manchester United on Sunday, Liverpool will be eager to return to winning ways this week against Tottenham, who are suffering something of a crisis having lost yet again on the weekend to fellow League Cup semi-finalists Newcastle United.
And Slot has now revealed if Dominik Szoboszlai will be fit enough to feature for Liverpool having missed the last two games for the Reds.

Dominik Szoboszlai to miss Tottenham clash having been absent from Liverpool training
Speaking to the press ahead of Wednesday’s clash, Slot revealed that Szoboszlai will not play against Tottenham with the Hungarian international yet to feature in training this week, with the midfielder dealing with an illness.
Slot said when asked if Szoboszlai will be available to play against Tottenham: “Yesterday he wasn’t in yet. If he’s in today I would doubt if he’s available to start the game, but hopefully he’s in today.”
With Szoboszlai missing Liverpool’s win against Leicester City and last weekend’s draw against United, the 24-year-old missing a third game for the Reds will be a blow given the importance of retaining the League Cup this season.
And with Gary Neville taking aim at Liverpool’s midfielders after their performance at Anfield on the weekend against the Red Devils, Szoboszlai’s absence will be felt by the Reds going into this week’s big League Cup tie against Spurs.

Liverpool will be frustrated with Szoboszlai’s absence this week
Szoboszlai’s absence was felt big time against United, with Liverpool’s midfield lacking a certain energy in the final third that the former RB Leipzig man has brought in recent weeks in Slot’s system.
And the Hungarian international missing yet another game due to illness will leave Liverpool frustrated, especially with how important Szoboszlai’s form has been for the Reds in their high-scoring wins of late.
Indeed, more time off will be beneficial for Szoboszlai, though, and heading into the packed January schedule, the 24-year-old’s return will be celebrated as the Reds look to top the Champions League standings and continue to march on in the Premier League.
