Liverpool were unable to extend their winning run in the Premier League as Manchester United held the Reds to a draw at Anfield.
Amad Diallo scored a late equaliser to ensure that the points were shared on Merseyside, with Liverpool missing out on the chance to go eight points clear at the top of the Premier League with Arsenal drawing on Saturday night against Brighton & Hove Albion.

With Trent Alexander-Arnold facing plenty of criticism from the likes of Roy Keane for his performance against United, it was a game to forget for some Liverpool players, with Michael Owen lauding Virgil van Dijk for his honest assessment of the Reds.
And Gary Neville has now said two more Liverpool players were off the boil against United at Anfield.

Ryan Gravenberch and Curtis Jones ‘outplayed’ by Manchester United counterparts
Speaking on the Gary Neville Podcast, the pundit noted how Ryan Gravenberch and Curtis Jones really struggled facing off against United’s midfielders, with the Liverpool duo way off their usual best with the Red Devils looking inspired.
Neville said when discussing the midfield battle at Anfield: “Ugarte and Mainoo haven’t been in amazing form, and with Bruno playing on the left, I thought that was going to be a risk for United rather than a strength that it ended up being.
“I thought the way the three of them took the ball, and I always say that taking the ball here [at Anfield] as a midfield player is always the hardest, particularly with Gravenberch, Mac Allister and Jones being all over you.
“But I actually thought those three Liverpool players, though Mac Allister was the best, but Gravenberch and Jones today, it would be harsh to say that they went missing, but they certainly found it hard against Mainoo and Ugarte, they outplayed them, which I haven’t seen many Man United midfield do in recent years at Anfield.”

Arne Slot could be tempted to make a Liverpool tactical tweak
Gravenberch and Jones were disappointing for Liverpool in a game that leading into it looked like it was going to be a routine win for the Reds, with United surprising everyone by turning up in a big way.
And for Arne Slot, the performance on Sunday could be bad enough for the Dutch coach to make a tactical tweak to his Liverpool system, with the Reds in need of a fresh change heading into an intense month of fixtures.
Indeed, changing how the midfield operates could be a smart idea with some big games coming up against the likes of Tottenham and Nottingham Forest, with the two final UEFA Champions League games also on the table.
