Mo Salah admits there was something that surprised him about ‘confrontational’ Arne Slot straight away at Liverpool

Mohamed Salah is arguably playing the best football of his Liverpool career and has taken his game to another level under Arne Slot.

The Reds lead the way in the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League, while they are also very much in the running in the domestic cups.

And Salah has been in the thick of the action as he continues to score and assist goals at will.

The Egyptian is currently loving life at Anfield and had something interesting to say about Slot, who has taken the Premier League by storm since his arrival.

Mo Salah hails Liverpool boss Arne Slot’s straightforwardness

When Jurgen Klopp left the club after almost nine years in charge of the club, the Reds were expected to undergo a bit of a transition as the German left big shoes to fill.

However, Slot has managed to come in and immediately endear himself to the Anfield faithful with his calm persona and tactical know-how.

Liverpool are six points clear of second-placed Arsenal despite having a game in hand and have won each of their six games in Europe, making them one of the most in-form teams in Europe.

And the Dutchman has played a big part in their early season form, especially with his sharp tactical mid-way through games to turn the tide in his favour.

When asked if he’s been surprised by Slot’s early impact, Salah said: “Before I worked with him, I didn’t expect it but once I started working with him, I wasn’t surprised anymore because I see how he’s into details and how he focuses on the small things.

“He doesn’t have an ego – if he makes a mistake he just tries to sort it. He’s very confrontational – which is somehow very good.

“He will tell you things in your face straight away but I think it’s very important for the players to know what the manager wants and he explains things really well. It’s black or white – take it or leave it.”

Salah’s Liverpool record under Slot

Slot recently said Salah is the fittest player in the Liverpool squad, which comes as no surprise as the Egyptian goes to absurd lengths to keep himself fit.

The 32-year-old has aged like fine wine and is scoring just as prolifically as he’s setting up his teammates, making him one of the most complete players in world football.

Salah’s season so far has been historic, to say the least, and he’ll look to carry on in the same vein as Liverpool look to get their hands on every trophy on offer.
