Liverpool are just days away from being able to buy players in the January transfer window.
The Reds had an exceptionally quiet 2024, adding only Federico Chiesa as a new player to the squad.
2025 will be at least equal that, with goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili already certain to join Liverpool next summer.
In the meantime, supporters will be hopeful that the Reds will do some business to cement their status as the best team in the Premier League and Champions League.
So far, the one area of the Liverpool squad which looks fairly secure is the forward line. The Reds are the top scorers in the English top tier having plundered 45 goals in 18 matches.
But with Darwin Nunez struggling to make an impression, Arne Slot may still want another option for his attack. And according to the latest reports, Liverpool are keen on signing Ipswich striker Liam Delap.

Liverpool interested in Liam Delap deal
Despite the fact that Ipswich have won only two games all season, Delap has cut an impressive figure for the Tractor Boys.
The 21-year-old has managed six goals and one assist in 17 games and has often looked like a real handful.
Big, strong and quick, Delap appears set for a move to a team further up the Premier League table.
And according to The Daily Mail, that team could be Liverpool. They claim that the Reds join Chelsea, Man United and Man City in having interest in Delap for January.

Having sold the youngster to Ipswich for £20m last summer, City reportedly have a buy-back clause in place for Delap.
It’s also claimed that the England U21 international has a release clause woven into his contract for anyone other than the Premier League champions.
Delap tipped to be the next Harry Kane
Although Delap has not scored in his last seven appearances for Ipswich, he has still been the standout player for Kieran McKenna’s team this season. The former City striker clearly has what it takes to play at a higher level.
According to former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy, Delap even has the possibility to become the ‘long-term successor to Harry Kane‘ as English football’s top striker.
“He’s got a lot of qualities,” Murphy told Match of the Day 2 in November.
“I’ve seen him a lot this season and I’d probably go as far as saying he’s the obvious long-term successor to Kane. I think he’s the best young English striker out there. I just don’t see a weakness with him.”
With Liverpool potentially on the lookout for a new orthodox number nine, Delap is certainly someone worth keeping an eye on.
