Liverpool will have to make at least one change to the team that beat West Ham on Sunday as they face Man United next week.

The Reds demolished the Hammers, recording another statement result in the Premier League.

But the win did come at a cost, with Joe Gomez unfortunately being forced off with a hamstring injury.

Arne Slot has confirmed that Gomez could be out for a while with the problem, leaving Liverpool a little short at the back for United.

With Ibrahima Konate still injured Jarell Quansah was the man tasked with replacing Gomez at the London Stadium.

And after Quansah did well against West Ham, the 21-year-old has been looking ahead to a possible surprise start at Anfield on Sunday.

Jarell Quansah ready for Man United clash

After two games in three days in the Premier League, Liverpool have a full week to prepare for the visit of their bitter rivals.

United are in a poor moment. Sitting 14th in the table under Ruben Amorim, Liverpool will be favourites to pile more misery on the Red Devils.

But with the centre-back struggling a little so far this season, the inclusion of Quansah may give some hope to United fans praying for an upset.

Being from Warrington, the Liverpool academy graduate is actually from a family of Red Devils, though, and speaking to LFCTV after helping the Reds beat West Ham, Quansah insisted that he is ready for the test.

“Of course,” said the defender when asked if he’s all set to step in at Anfield. “It’s such a massive game really, but I just see it as another game that we need to win.

“Anything I can do to help the team if I’m asked to do so then I’m ready, yeah.”

Quansah given chance for Man United revenge

Given the timeline that was suggested for Konate, there remains a chance that the Frenchman is back involved for Liverpool against United. That would be a boost for Slot.

Nevertheless, Quansah has played in these big games before and there should be little worry about throwing him in again.

The youngster should even be more determined to make an impression against United due to what happened during his performance at Old Trafford earlier this year.

Quansah made a high profile error during the 2-2 draw in the Premier League, accidentally undercooking a pass straight to Bruno Fernandes, who finished expertly from distance.

Jarell now looks ready for the chance to put that mistake right and get his season back on track with a big display against the old enemy.
