Liverpool return to Premier League action on Sunday as they travel to the London Stadium to take on West Ham United.

The Reds came from behind to beat Leicester City 3-1 at Anfield yesterday and will look to make it three wins on the bounce in the competition to cement their status as Premier League leaders.

West Ham started the season in underwhelming fashion but are unbeaten in their last four league games, climbing up to 13th in the table.

And Arne Slot feels the Hammers have a player who can be a ‘big threat’ against Liverpool on Sunday.

Mohammed Kudus is one of West Ham’s prized assets and has quickly emerged as one of the most exciting players in the Premier League.

The former Ajax midfielder is also capable of playing in attack and has earned rave reviews for his technical ability and versatility.

Liverpool have been linked with a January move for Kudus, who reportedly has an £85m release clause in his contract.

When quizzed about the player and whether he can play in central midfield due to West Ham’s ongoing crisis in that position, Slot heaped praise on the Ghanaian, describing him as a big threat.

“I think he’s a good player, that’s for sure and everyone sees this,” said Slot in his pre-match press conference.

“He can play in multiple positions and I think he played here for Ajax against Liverpool as a number nine as well. He’s a big threat for them.”

Do Liverpool really need Kudus?

Kudus can play in midfield and deputize on the right wing if needed, making him an intriguing option for the Reds.

However, Liverpool would be better off pursuing an out-and-out number six as Ryan Gravenberch doesn’t have any competition in that position.

The likes of Wataru Endo and Tyler Morton are at the club, but Slot doesn’t seem to rate them highly, due to which they might look for reinforcements in the upcoming transfer windows.

Kudus is clearly a talented player, but it remains to be seen if Liverpool will part with top dollar for a player who wouldn’t even be an automatic starter at the club.
