Liverpool supporters are buckling themselves up for what they hope will be a busy January at Anfield.
The Reds have made an excellent start to the season under Arne Slot and fans want to see the Dutchman backed with a new signing or two in the New Year.
As well as bringing fresh blood into the Liverpool squad, though, it’s arguably even more important that the Reds tie down a trio of key players already at the club.
With January now fast approaching, Liverpool are still yet to sort out new deals for Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk or Mohamed Salah.
Concern is rightly growing amongst the fanbase, with claims coming from Spain this week that Alexander-Arnold has rejected three offers from Liverpool to extend his contract.
Examining those suggestions for Rousing The Kop, journalist Graeme Bailey reveals the real truth of the matter.

Liverpool still waiting for Trent Alexander-Arnold decision
The longer things go on with each of these contract negotiations, the more it feels as though the players are destined to walk out of the Anfield exit this summer.
Despite that, Liverpool seemingly still haven’t given up hope that all of Alexander-Arnold, Van Dijk and Salah will stay.
Obviously, Alexander-Arnold is in the sights of Real Madrid and, as a result, reports coming from Spain are a genuine concern.
But according to Bailey, the Liverpool academy graduate has not rejected anything from his boyhood club and is still very much pondering what to do next.

“From my understanding it isn’t the case that Trent Alexander-Arnold has rejected contract offers from Liverpool,” says the reporter.
“It isn’t about money when it comes to Trent, he knows the offer on the table, it’s about his future and he hasn’t decided where his future is.
“We still don’t know what his truth is, but if he says ‘I’m staying at Liverpool,’ then that deal’s going to get done. If he says he’s leaving Liverpool then that deal will get done, too.”
Time running out for Alexander-Arnold stay
Although there has been a quiet panic setting in over this whole situation for a little while, many had probably harboured a quiet hope that it would all be sorted by now.
But Liverpool are now getting perilously close to losing three of their best players for absolutely nothing.
| Assists | Expected Assists | Pass Accuracy | Dribble Success | Tackles Won | |
| Premier League 24/25 | 3 | 3.52 | 74.5% | 35.7% | 80.0% |
In the case of Alexander-Arnold, it sounds like he is simply making a decision based on where he wants to be next season and beyond.
In our opinion, Liverpool now have to put pressure on the 26-year-old to make that call by the New Year.
And if Trent really does need that much convincing to stay and build a new era at his hometown club, then it’s hard to see how he isn’t already halfway out the door. We’d love to be proven wrong, but it feels like the end is now near for Alexander-Arnold and Liverpool.
