Liverpool’s good form this season has highlighted the top quality standard of many within their squad.
The Reds have been flying under Arne Slot, shining a light on the fact they they are able to call upon some of the best talent in world football.
At the moment, no one is personifying that more than Mohamed Salah.
Salah was brilliant again at Newcastle on Wednesday, setting up Curtis Jones’ equaliser before hitting two excellent goals to put Liverpool into a lead which they could not keep.
The Egyptian’s form has highlighted in the biggest possible way what Liverpool will be losing if they allow him to walk out of Anfield for nothing in the summer.
Should that happen, though, there have been suggestions in the media that Salah could end up at PSG. And as those rumours continue to circle, the French club’s president, Nasser Al Khelaifi, has spoken publicly about Salah.

PSG president ‘loves’ Mohamed Salah
Salah has been showing just as clearly as ever that he could still play for any team on the planet.
With every passing performance he is adding more and more pressure on the Liverpool owners to give him the contract that he deserves.
If they fail to do that, then why wouldn’t the powerhouses of Europe be interested? As one of the richest clubs in Europe, PSG would certainly come into that conversation.
However, speaking to Give Me Sport at Thursday’s Club World Cup group stage draw, Al Khelaifi seemingly moved to diffuse any talk that Salah is on his way to France.

“I love Salah, also because he came from our part of the world,” says the Qatari. “I am very proud of him, honestly, for what he’s done in the Premier League with Liverpool. And I have big respect for him and for Liverpool.
“So, we never talked to him. Respect Liverpool and respect the player – he has a contract with Liverpool and we never talked to him.”
Mohamed Salah ‘congratulated’ on new contact
Although Al Khelaifi is being very respectful towards Liverpool with these comments, we think it would be a slightly different matter if push does come to shove.
If there comes a point where it looks as though Salah will leave, surely the French champions would be heavily involved in trying to tempt him.
However, the nature of Al Khelaifi’s words do suggest that he does not have an expectation that this will happen.
And comments from former Egypt player Haytham Farouk on X this week would appear to be very positive for Liverpool fans, too.
“Congratulations on renewing your contract with the number you like and the period you want,” says Farouk, sharing an old picture of he and Salah. “The Egyptian king rules with his own judgments.”
Although there has been nothing to suggest that Salah has indeed renewed his contract just yet, these two things together certainly look to be positive.
