Liverpool’s busy schedule keeps on rumbling this week as the Reds gear up to face both Newcastle and Everton.
On the back of a seven game winning sequence, the Premier League table-toppers should not be feeling any real tiredness in their legs.
Nevertheless, there is a real need for Arne Slot to rotate his players in order to prevent further injuries.
The Liverpool squad has been hit by a variety of fitness problems of late and they could really do without picking up any more.
One player who they absolutely cannot afford to lose at any point of any season is Mohamed Salah. Salah is in ridiculous form at the moment, having scored 13 goals and registered 11 assists during the season so far.
But as they face a potential future without their Egyptian King, Slot has now hinted at two players who he is thinking about to mimic what Salah gives the team.

Arne Slot hints at two Mohamed Salah replacements
It was around this time in 2024 that Liverpool saw Salah go down with a problem which really hampered him for the rest of the campaign.
With the 32-year-old potentially the most in-form player in world football at the moment, they will be sweating on the same thing happening again.
Even if Salah stays fit, though, it still looks very possible that Liverpool will have to learn to cope without him moving forward. There is still no contract resolution in sight.
And asked about Liverpool’s reliance on Salah during his pre-Newcastle press conference, Slot hinted that he is thinking about both Harvey Elliott and Federico Chiesa to provide internal solutions for this major problem.

“He is also a human being and it happened to him last season, that he can get an injury as well,” Slot said on Salah.
“Since Federico Chiesa has had a difficult start to the club because of injuries, we don’t really have a replacement for Mo. The good thing is that Harvey Elliott is getting fitter and fitter again and he played this position many times as well.
“So, I’m not afraid that Mo’s numbers will drop at all but when it comes to an injury for him we are in a better position on the left wing than we are on the right,” added the Liverpool head coach. “But the good thing is that Federico is also training with us again and getting back and Harvey is getting back.”
Federico Chiesa can be the Mohamed Salah replacement
If Salah does leave at the end of his current Liverpool contract, then there will be an almighty clamour for the Reds to sign a direct replacement in the transfer market.
There have been claims that Liverpool have an eye on Khvicha Kvaratskhelia becoming available and the Georgian would certainly be an exciting addition.
But it’s also very possible that Chiesa could do the job himself. If the 27-year-old can put the injuries behind him, then Liverpool have a superb option ready made within the squad.
A lot of the perception of whether Chiesa is up to that will be made over the coming weeks when he finally returns to fitness.
If he makes the impression we think he can, then Liverpool fans may well become less and less worried about the prospect of losing Mo. As for Elliott, he’s shown many times that this is not his best position. But as Slot says, he can still very much do a job.
