Arne Slot made it 18 wins from 20 games last night as Liverpool manager as the Reds bested Manchester City at Anfield.
The Merseyside giants have been imperious under their new head coach this season, with Slot taking Liverpool 11 points clear at the top of the Premier League and winning every UEFA Champions League game as well.

With Gary Neville praising Slot after Liverpool’s win against City, the former Feyenoord manager is proving himself to be the best possible replacement for Jurgen Klopp, something most supporters was impossible at the end of last season.
And Joe Gomez has highlighted how Slot has managed to succeed Klopp so effortlessly this year.

Slot not trying to replicate Klopp’s work at Liverpool
Speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live, the England international noted that Slot has come in at Liverpool and to try and put in his own ideas and philosophies rather than trying to replicate what Klopp had laid down in the last nine years at Anfield.
With Phil Foden saying Slot has made Liverpool ‘frightening’ to play against, the players have certainly reacted well to the Dutch coach’s approaches and methods this season, and Gomez is seemingly loving life under his new manager.
Gomez said: “I think the biggest thing is he is not trying to fill Jurgen’s shoes or be Jurgen. Jurgen’s legacy is stamped in the history of the club and that cannot be changed. He [Slot] has been himself, it has been refreshing and all the coaching staff have been positive.
“Today was about hard work and working harder than them. The work is not done, we haven’t won anything. It is a great start and he is constantly reminding us about going again. He knows we have experience in the squad and he is just on us.”

Slot could leave behind a bigger legacy than Klopp at Liverpool
The thought of Slot becoming an even bigger legend at Liverpool than Klopp wasn’t even in the conversation when the Dutch manager was appointed by the Reds at the end of last season.
Yet with a third of the season done and Liverpool on top of the world, a question like this is something that fans could have to consider, with Slot getting the best out of the Reds and showing zero signs of slowing down just yet.
Indeed, Slot has been the perfect hire for Liverpool, and with some new signings in January, the former Feyenoord manager can push the Reds even further heading into 2025, with the treble a realistic objective.
